Adolescence, The Studio and The Pitt emerged as the big winners at this year’s Emmy Awards, in a night that celebrated both established talent and a new generation of stars.
Fifteen-year-old Owen Cooper made history by becoming the youngest ever male winner at the Emmys for his breakout role in Netflix’s psychological mini-series Adolescence. The drama proved the night’s most decorated production, securing six awards including the coveted prize for Best Limited Series. Cooper’s emotional speech, where he thanked his parents and co-stars, was hailed as one of the highlights of the ceremony.
Seth Rogen’s comedy The Studio also had a successful evening, taking home four Emmys across acting and writing categories. Meanwhile, The Pitt surprised many by clinching Best Drama, beating heavyweights such as Severance and The White Lotus. Still, Severance did not leave empty-handed, with Tramell Tillman and Britt Lower both receiving major acting accolades.
Away from the awards themselves, the red carpet drew almost as much attention as the ceremony. Sydney Sweeney, Jenna Ortega and Pedro Pascal led the glamour, with Scarlett Johansson and Javier Bardem also among the Hollywood A-listers photographed on television’s biggest night. Their appearances generated a wave of excitement on social media, where fashion highlights quickly went viral.
The evening has been described as a turning point for the Emmys, with younger stars and fresh projects taking centre stage, signalling a shift in the industry’s creative landscape.
